What do you love most about your job?

I am proud to make a difference to those with hearing impairment and their families. It gives me great job satisfaction knowing that I have the tools and the ability to empower people to maximise their hearing ability. There is nothing better than hearing a patient describe hearing the birds again, or the conversation at a family gathering. As we offer such a personal service I get to know my patients well and vice versa, so my work has a sort of family feel about it.

Personal life

I live in Bury, and I'm very fortunate that I now work in Bury too. I am married and have a son. I really enjoy sports, playing cricket for my local team, hiking, and when time permits, I try and get into the gym. Travelling fascinates me, exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, and learning about their history. But I always come back to my roots and to the local community and realise just how lucky I am.

Interesting fact about me

I like DIY, I think I can do it, I have a lot of DIY tools but in all honesty, I’m terrible at it!

Where/what was your previous job role?

I worked as an audiologist for a well-established national hearing care company until 2019. I then decided to branch out and work for myself, that’s when Bury Hearing Centre was born and I’ve never looked back.

Qualified in 2014 from the esteemed Mary Hare School for the Deaf.

NHS trained and qualified for all earwax removal procedures.

What do you love most about your job?

I enjoy how varied my day is, we meet so many different patients. To see them leave knowing they we have made a difference gives us great job satisfaction. We are a lovely team and it is a pleasure to come to work.

Personal life

I am married with two grown-up married boys, we are a close family and enjoy spending time together. My husband and I enjoy going on holiday and as he is half Italian we spend a lot of our holidays in Italy. We love the scenery, the culture and most of all the food. We like to go for walks, we are lucky as the part of Bury we live in has beautiful countryside. I confess to being a creature of comfort so I do not venture out if the weather is unpleasant.

Interesting fact about me

Not really interesting other than to me, I like to sit by the pool with a cocktail in hand.... bliss.

Where/what was your previous job role?

I worked in the office at a local High School for many years, I really enjoyed my time there. The children were a delight. Prior to this, I worked for a firm of solicitors and then the Police. I’m a real people person.
